The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has received hand luggage for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, marking a significant advancement in the state’s preparations for the journey to Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Aliyu Musa, the agency’s chairman, personally reviewed the items and expressed his satisfaction with their quality and timely arrival. He emphasized that the delivery is part of ongoing efforts to ensure a seamless Hajj experience for intending pilgrims from the state.

“We are satisfied with the progress made so far. The arrival of these materials is a clear indication of our commitment to ensuring that Sokoto pilgrims have a smooth and hitch-free Hajj experience,” he said.

Musa highlighted that the agency is fully focused on preparations, pointing out that logistics, welfare, and orientation programs are being meticulously managed to meet national standards.

“Our goal is to provide efficient services and proper guidance to all intending pilgrims. We are working round the clock to make the 2026 Hajj one of the most successful in recent times,” he added.

The chairman also revealed that the agency is still awaiting the arrival of pilgrims’ uniforms from the contractor and assured that efforts are underway to ensure their timely delivery.

Meanwhile, he announced that the agency would increase its public enlightenment campaigns in all 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State to educate pilgrims on the rites, rules, and expectations of the pilgrimage.

“We urge all intending pilgrims to attend the enlightenment sessions in their respective local government areas. These sessions are very important as they provide essential guidance for a successful Hajj,” Musa emphasized.
Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a yearly religious journey to Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that every capable Muslim is required to undertake at least once in their lifetime.

According to media reports, in Nigeria, state pilgrims welfare agencies are tasked with managing the logistics of intending pilgrims, including registration, vaccination, airlift, and orientation, under the supervision of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

In recent years, authorities have focused on ensuring early preparations, thorough documentation, and comprehensive enlightenment programs to minimize challenges often faced during the pilgrimage.

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has repeatedly underscored its dedication to enhancing service delivery and ensuring that pilgrims from the state perform the religious duty with ease and comfort.
