The Nigeria Police Force in Kwara State has inaugurated a new Area Command Headquarters in Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun Local Government Area, in a move expected to strengthen security operations across the community and neighbouring areas.

Residents of Ajase-Ipo welcomed the development as a significant improvement in security infrastructure following the commissioning of the newly constructed facility in the town.

The building was solely funded and donated by a prominent philanthropist and community leader, the Asiwaju of Ajase-Ipo, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Ashola Oloruntele Aroworowon, as part of efforts to support policing and community safety.

The project, located along Offa Road beside the International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), is considered a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening the presence of law enforcement and enhancing rapid response to criminal activities within the area.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, March 30, 2026, attracted security officials and community leaders, including the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Akeem Adekimi Ojo, who represented the police high command at the event.

Traditional authority was also represented by the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Bolaji Yahaya Alebiosu, alongside other dignitaries who commended the initiative and described it as a timely contribution to community security.

Stakeholders at the event noted that the donation highlights the growing role of private individuals in complementing government efforts to protect lives and property across communities.

They added that the new Area Command Headquarters would significantly improve policing efficiency and operational capacity within Irepodun Local Government Area and surrounding communities.

The gesture further reflects Aroworowon’s longstanding commitment to grassroots development and community service, a reputation that has earned him recognition across Kwara South and beyond.
