The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has signed into law the state’s ₦985.9billion Appropriation Bill for the 2026 fiscal year, following its passage by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The House had approved the budget last week after concluding legislative scrutiny and defence sessions with ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government.
Under the 2026 budget, ₦689.9 billion, representing about 70 per cent of the total expenditure, is earmarked for capital projects, while ₦287 billion is allocated for recurrent expenditure.
A major highlight of the budget is the allocation of ₦100 million to each of the 255 wards across the state for the execution of grassroots community development projects.
Speaking while assenting to the bill, Governor Uba Sani commended members of the State House of Assembly for the speedy consideration and passage of the budget.
“The timely approval of this budget demonstrates the strong spirit of cooperation and shared commitment between the executive and legislative arms of government,” the governor said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to work closely with the legislature and other stakeholders to deliver sustainable development and improve the living standards of citizens across Kaduna State.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Yusuf Liman, said the legislature approved the budget after a thorough review process.
“The House subjected the budget to rigorous scrutiny, including budget defence sessions by ministries, departments and agencies, to ensure accountability and value for money,” Liman stated.
