Nigerian troops have intercepted a second suspected terrorist logistics supply in Borno State, targeting Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province operations.

The interception occurred along the Maiduguri–Bama Road, shortly after troops earlier disrupted another supply of foodstuffs, cash, and vehicle spare parts in the state.

The military said the operations were part of sustained efforts to block supply routes used by insurgent groups in the North East.

Sani Uba, spokesman of the theatre command, said troops also uncovered and neutralized an improvised explosive device along the Damboa–Komala Road.

He said the operations were conducted under Operations Desert Sanity IV and V, which focus on disrupting terrorist logistics and movement.

Uba said that on December 17, 2025, troops of 25 Brigade discovered an IED during a main supply route patrol along the Damboa–Komala axis.

He said the device was secured and later detonated by the troops, restoring safe movement for both military personnel and civilians.

In a separate operation on December 19, 2025, Uba said troops at a checkpoint along the Maiduguri–Bama Road intercepted a Lagos-registered vehicle with registration number AKD 244 YE.

He said the vehicle was conveying food items and energy drinks suspected to be meant for Boko Haram and ISWAP elements operating around Kirawa Ward in Gwoza local government area.

Uba said two suspects were arrested during the interception.

He said items recovered included assorted food items, energy drinks, three mobile phones, an identity card, a ring, and cash in Nigerian naira and CFA francs.

The suspects, the vehicle, and the recovered items were handed over to the appropriate military intelligence unit for further investigation.

The military said it remains committed to denying terrorist groups access to logistics, restricting their movement, and maintaining security across the North East.
