The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State, describing the victory as a reflection of the people’s choice at the polls.
Atiku, in a post shared on his X handle on Sunday, said the election result reflected the wishes of Osun residents.
“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State. His victory demonstrates the choice of the people of Osun as expressed at the ballot box,” Atiku said.
He praised the people of the state for their peaceful participation in the election and wished Adeleke success throughout his second term.
“I commend the people for their passion and peaceful participation. I wish Governor Adeleke continued success as he continues to serve them,” he added.
Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner of the governorship poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.
He secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
