Governor Zulum while commissioning the project

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has commissioned a 72-unit residential complex for teachers in Mafa Local Government Area.

The facility features 24 two-bedroom semi-detached houses and 48 three-bedroom flats spread across eight three-story blocks.

It was built to provide secure and decent accommodation for teachers and their families.

Speaking at the Tuesday event, Governor Zulum said, “Improving teachers’ welfare is key to delivering quality education.”

He added, “This initiative targets rural areas recovering from years of insurgency.”

Education Commissioner Engr Lawan Abba Wakilbe said, “The beneficiaries were drawn from primary and secondary schools.”

Wakilbe praised Governor Zulum, stating, “We appreciate the governor for prioritizing teachers’ living conditions.”

The commissioning was attended by Maiduguri Metropolis House of Representatives member Abdulkadir Rahis.

Also in attendance were Acting Chief of Staff Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe and Commissioners Mustapha Gubio and Sugun Mai Mele.
