Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has stated that governors in the North-West will not engage in negotiations with bandits.

He made this known in Katsina State during the inauguration of a new road project, noting that leaders in the region are united in tackling insecurity and are committing significant resources to address it.

“We will not negotiate with any criminal, nor will we accept any offer from them unless they surrender unconditionally,” he said.

Aliyu reassured residents that state governments are collaborating closely with security agencies to eliminate banditry.

He also encouraged communities to assist by reporting informants and any suspicious activities.

“We must do the needful at the community level by remaining vigilant and monitoring the movement of suspicious individuals,” he added.

The governor urged citizens to support the efforts and pray for success, while commending Katsina State’s Community Guard initiative and its contribution to enhancing security.
