The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, on Saturday oversaw an elaborate turbaning ceremony where three newly appointed district heads, including the son of the Katsina State Governor, were officially installed at the Emir’s Palace.

The occasion attracted a large crowd of political figures, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across Nigeria and neighbouring Niger Republic.

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, was present at the ceremony alongside Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other senior government officials.

Also in attendance was the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahaya Daura, among several notable personalities.

The Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Abdulkadir, formally introduced the appointees before the Emir carried out the traditional rites.

Those turbaned include Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda, son of the governor, who was installed as Gwagwaren Katsina II and District Head of Radda.

Others were Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, now Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama, and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, who assumed the title of Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.

In his remarks, the Emir described the event as historic, stating that it witnessed the highest attendance during his reign.

He commended guests for their discipline and active participation.

The monarch appealed for unity among the people, urging them to uphold the principles of peace, mutual respect, and strong moral values.

He emphasised the role of faith and discipline in fostering a stable and progressive society, while warning against envy and division.

The Emir also urged traditional and religious leaders to strengthen efforts toward promoting peace and social harmony, stressing that collective responsibility and support for the less privileged remain vital for societal development.

Among other dignitaries present were the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel; the Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar Faruk; and the Sultan of Damagaram, Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda.

Also present were prominent businessman Dahiru Barau Mangal, federal lawmakers, members of the state assembly, local government chairmen, and other stakeholders.
