President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Kano on Friday, July 18, to pay a condolence visit to the government and people of Kano State, as well as to the family of the late elder statesman and industrialist, Alhaji Aminu Alasan Dantata.
This was announced in a statement issued by the spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Thursday.
The President’s visit follows the recent passing of the renowned philanthropist and business mogul, whose influence and generosity impacted lives across Nigeria over several decades.
Governor Yusuf described Tinubu’s visit as “a show of national unity and respect for the people of Kano and the legacy of the late Aminu Alasan Dantata.”
“This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect,” Governor Yusuf said.
“I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elder statesmen.”
According to the statement, all necessary security and logistical arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and dignified visit.
The Governor also called on Kano residents to maintain the state’s tradition of hospitality and civility in honour of both the President and the memory of the late Dantata.
