The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against armed bandits in Zamfara State, neutralizing scores of terrorists during a joint air and ground offensive.

According to a statement from the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strike took place in Makakkari Forest under the ongoing Operation Fasan Yamma.

Surveillance operations detected the movement of over 400 bandits allegedly preparing to launch an attack on a farming community.

He said this prompted the NAF to launch a precision offensive.

The coordinated action combined targeted airstrikes with ground assaults, eliminating several notorious kingpins and large numbers of their fighters.

Ejodame described the operation as “exceptional,” crediting its success to seamless cooperation between the air and land forces, which ensured minimal escape routes for the terrorists.
