Victims abducted during the bloody attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have arrived in Ilorin after being rescued following several months in captivity.
The victims were seized when heavily armed bandits stormed the community earlier this year, killing many residents and taking numerous others into the forest, sparking widespread outrage and intensified security operations.
After prolonged military offensives and coordinated actions by security agencies, the victims regained their freedom and were moved from Niger State to Ilorin on August 6.
They were received at the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin, before being transferred to an undisclosed location where they spent the night.

The rescued victims are expected to be formally handed over to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who has consistently engaged security authorities to ensure their safe return.
Their arrival represents a significant breakthrough in the months-long campaign to secure the release of the abductees, while authorities continue to verify the number of those rescued and provide necessary care and support.
