Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda on Tuesday signed into law the 2025 Supplementary Budget worth ₦137 billion, shortly after its approval by the State House of Assembly.

The supplementary appropriation allocates ₦126.8 billion for capital expenditure and ₦10.2 billion for recurrent expenditure, aimed at maintaining the administration’s robust infrastructure agenda and ensuring the completion of ongoing projects across the state.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Governor Radda commended the State Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill.

He explained that the supplementary budget became essential following requests from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies that had exhausted their capital allocations due to the scale of ongoing development works.

Radda said the majority of the funds would be directed toward completing infrastructure projects such as roads, schools, healthcare facilities, water systems, and agricultural initiatives.

He assured citizens that the implementation of the supplementary budget would be guided by transparency and accountability, in line with his administration’s commitment to sound financial governance.

“I commend the Honourable Speaker, Nasir Daura, and all members of the Katsina State House of Assembly for their swift legislative action on this critical bill. Your commitment to the development of our state is truly commendable,” Radda stated.

During plenary, the House Leader, Shamsuddeen Dabai, described Governor Radda as one of Nigeria’s best-performing governors, noting that the supplementary estimates came at a timely moment, considering the scope of ongoing and completed projects.

A statement by Ibrahim Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, added that the House had earlier referred the proposal to the Committee on Appropriations, whose report facilitated its passage.
