Gov. Yusuf of Kano State has officially submitted his nomination form to the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja as the party’s lone aspirant for the 2027 governorship election in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday in Kano by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.

Yusuf was accompanied by Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senator Kawu Sumaila, members of the House of Representatives and several other prominent figures from Kano State.

Addressing journalists at Treasure Suites shortly after presenting the form, Yusuf described his decision to seek a second term as a renewed opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his dedication to the people of Kano State.

He said his administration would intensify urban renewal initiatives across the state, noting that road projects, drainage infrastructure and market upgrades would be given increased focus.

Yusuf stated that rural development would continue to be a key aspect of his administration, promising additional investment in feeder roads, water supply, healthcare facilities and schools in rural areas.

The governor also pledged increased backing for agriculture and empowerment schemes for farmers and youths, stressing that employment generation and youth empowerment would remain major priorities of his government.

He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing education and healthcare services across Kano State, emphasizing that unity, peace and inclusive governance remained central pillars of his administration.

Yusuf said he would sustain collaboration with relevant stakeholders to advance the state and reiterated his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda to attract more federal projects and opportunities to Kano.

He appreciated the people of Kano for their continuous support and trust in his leadership, assuring them of stronger commitment, accountable governance and people-oriented development.
