The Honorable Commissioner for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPM&E), Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, has paid an inspection visit to the Kano State School of Health Technology.

Leading a monitoring team to the institution, the Commissioner assessed the fencing of the female hostel and the remodeled main entrance of the school.

He was received by the Provost, Hajiya Rakiya Mukhtar, along with senior management staff of the college.

During the tour, the Provost guided the Commissioner through additional projects within the school premises, including a solar-powered borehole provided by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA).

She commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his sustained investment in the state’s higher institutions.

While appreciating the state government’s commitment, Hajiya Rakiya urged the Commissioner to deliver the school’s further requests to the authorities.

She stressed that the institution urgently needs more theatres, lecture halls, and office spaces to accommodate the fast-growing student population.

Her remarks underscored the pressure on the school’s existing facilities as enrolments continue to rise.

Commissioner follows up on other projects

Beyond the School of Health Technology visit, Comrade Ma’aji Sumaila also inspected four major ongoing state projects.

A statement signed by Sagiru Ado Abubakar, the Information Officer of MPPPM&E, Kano, added that some of the projects include Tudun Yola–Dan Sudu Bypass Road, the Kofar Waika–Unguwar Dabai–Yan Kuje Western Bypass Road, the Dorawar Yan Kifi project, and the 44-kilometer Janguza–Durum–Kabo–Karaye Road.

According to him, the Ministry will sustain its close monitoring role to ensure standards are upheld and projects are delivered on schedule.

“The Ministry will continue its close monitoring of all projects across Kano State to ensure timely delivery and adherence to standards, in line with the vision of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to provide quality infrastructure for the people of Kano,” the Commissioner said.

The inspection reflects the government’s broader drive for accountability and transparency in public projects.
