Residents of Dan Hono II in Kaduna Millennium City on Monday staged a protest, blocking the busy Yar’adua Road to demand urgent intervention following a renewed wave of kidnappings in the community.

Men, women, and youths assembled in large numbers, displaying placards and chanting slogans, expressing anger over the worsening insecurity and calling on security agencies to take immediate action.

According to reports, a group of armed men allegedly abducted a woman, her children, and the owner of a private school during a midnight raid. Residents said this incident represents the 11th abduction in the community within the last two years.

“This is becoming unbearable. We can no longer sleep peacefully. The government and security agencies must act before the situation worsens,” one protester said.

The protesters warned that the rising insecurity is forcing some families to consider relocating, while local business owners fear the trend could disrupt economic activities in the neighbourhood.

Three weeks ago, a former cameraman with African Independent Television (AIT) was also abducted from his home in the same area, further increasing fears among residents.

According to Vanguard, efforts to obtain official confirmation from security authorities were ongoing, while residents called for increased patrols and rapid response measures to prevent further attacks.
