The Kaduna State Government has officially revoked all previous sales of institutional houses located within Alhudahuda College, Zaria; Queen Amina College, Kaduna; and Government Commercial College, Zaria.

The revocation was carried out in overriding public interest to support human capital development and ensure a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Mu’azu Meyere, on Monday, April 22, 2025.

According to the statement, all allottees of the affected properties have been notified of the revocation, and arrangements are underway to refund payments made for the sold houses.

Creating an enabling learning environment

According to the statement, the decision aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s vision to enhance educational access and quality across Kaduna State.

“Effective learning can best take place in a conducive atmosphere without distractions and sundry interferences,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He emphasized that education remains a cornerstone of his administration’s human capital development strategy.

“Education is not just a leveller but also a ladder for upward mobility which can transform lives and improve livelihoods,” Governor Sani stated.

Investments in infrastructure and access

Since assuming office, Governor Sani has prioritized education reforms and infrastructure development. One of his first major actions was reducing school fees in all state-owned tertiary institutions on August 21, 2023.

Beyond tertiary education, the administration has constructed over 2,336 new classrooms and renovated 707 across primary and secondary schools. It has also supplied 3,704 furniture sets for teachers and 30,742 for pupils.

It added that the Kaduna State Government has drilled 51 boreholes and provided 918 cubicle toilets across local government areas to support students and teachers alike, ensuring better hygiene and comfort in schools.

The revocation of the property sales reflects the government’s continued prioritization of education as a tool for social development and prosperity.
