Ibom Air has announced the donation of 50,000 doses of anti-malaria medications to the State Ministry of Health to reduce the burden among children and pregnant women in impacted communities.

The statement reads in part, “In commemoration of the 2026 World Malaria Day, Ibom Air, through its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative FAMPact (Fight Against Malaria in Pregnant Women and Children Today), has made a significant presentation of anti-malaria medications to the State Malaria Elimination Programme (SMEP) under the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health.

Essienette explained that the presentation marks the third in a sequence of similar donations by the airline, reflecting its strong commitment to health as a key corporate social responsibility focus.
She added that to further boost awareness, Ibom Air has encouraged members of the public to participate in an awareness walk marking World Malaria Day, observed globally on April 25 each year, themed “Walk Against Malaria,” scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The walk, she said, will commence at the Ibom Plaza at 6:00 AM and will include public enlightenment campaigns, health education activities, and aerobic sessions. A notable guest expected is a renowned medical influencer, Aproko Doctor (Dr Chinonso Egemba Fidelis), who will help amplify awareness and engagement.
“This is the third year in a row that Ibom Air has made such a donation, showcasing the airline’s genuine passion for health as one of its core Corporate Social Responsibility pillars.
“This year’s World Malaria Day theme, ‘Driven to end malaria, Now we can, Now we must,’ resonates strongly with the FAMPact mission to drive community engagement and amplify conversations around malaria prevention strategies, protecting the vulnerable. Malaria remains one of Nigeria’s leading causes of death, especially among pregnant women and children under five.
