Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has once again earned national recognition as he clinched the Governor of the Year 2025 award at the Blueprint Newspaper Annual Public Lecture and Impact Series.

The high-profile event was held at the Ladi Kwali Hall in Abuja.

The honour, according to a statement signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Information, Ibrahim Adam, was in acknowledgment of Governor Yusuf’s exceptional commitment to education.

Kano’s education drive sets national standard

Blueprint Newspaper praised the Kano State Government for demonstrating leadership by channeling the highest state budgetary allocation into the education sector in 2025.

The award organisers noted that under Governor Yusuf’s administration, the state has prioritised human capital development by renovating dilapidated school structures, sponsoring thousands of Kano indigenes for both local and international scholarships, and employing qualified teachers to enhance learning in public schools.

These efforts have helped reposition Kano as a beacon of educational transformation and youth empowerment.
