Kano State governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially sworn in Sa’idu Yahya as the new chairman of the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government House, Kano, on Wednesday, and was supervised by the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi.

Yahya succeeds Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, whose tenure as chairman recently expired.

Three new special advisers also inaugurated

Alongside Yahya, Governor Yusuf also inaugurated three newly appointed special advisers.

They are Kabiru Haruna Getso, Special Adviser on Employment; Sale Musa Sa’adu, Special Adviser on Social Responsibility; and Mr. Sylvester Kole, Special Adviser on South-South Community Affairs.

The governor said the appointments were carefully selected based on merit and competence.

Governor’s charge to the new officials

Speaking after the oath-taking, Governor Yusuf charged the new anti-corruption chairman to discharge his duties without fear or favour.

He cautioned Yahya against corruption, favouritism, or serving personal interests, stressing that the integrity of Kano State must be protected at all times.

The governor also commended the immediate past chairman, Muhyi Magaji, for his service and urged Yahya to consult his predecessor when necessary.

Yahya, advisers pledge commitment

In his remarks, Yahya pledged to carry out his duties with professionalism and diligence.

He assured the governor and the people of Kano that the commission would continue to uphold accountability and transparency.

Speaking on behalf of the advisers, Kabiru Haruna Getso expressed gratitude for the appointments and promised that they would bring their expertise to bear in their respective assignments.
