The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced a scheduled 10-day power outage across parts of Enugu metropolis to enable major maintenance and repair works.

In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, the company explained that the planned outage is part of ongoing projects by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

He noted that the maintenance will take place at the TCN New Haven Station.

Ezeh added that the exercise is designed to improve the stability and reliability of power supply across the city.

In late August, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) had announced a two-day planned power interruption in parts of Anambra and Enugu states.

Earlier in the same month, EEDC also reported power cuts in some areas of Enugu State following an adjustment in electricity tariffs.

For the current maintenance schedule, Ezeh stated that the outage would be implemented in phases from Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, to Thursday, Oct. 31, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.

The company’s spokesman noted that the development will affect several 33KV feeders, including Kingsway Lines 1 and 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2, Thinkers Corner Line, Trans-Ekulu Line, Ugwuogo Line, and Ituku Ozalla Line.

“Consequently, our customers within Emene Industrial Layout, Abakpa Nike, Transekulu, Nowas, Ugbodogwu, Thinkers Corner, Ugbo Nnebedum, Nkpologwu, 9th Mile, Shoprite, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate and Okpara Avenue will experience supply interruption during the period of this exercise.
