The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has assured troops of Operation Hadin Kai of improved welfare and wellbeing.

He gave the assurance on Friday at the Theatre Command Headquarters in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.

The visit was aimed at assessing the condition of the troops, boosting their morale, and interacting with them.

“You already know the task ahead, it is now your time to end the Boko Haram crises affecting the North East region,” he charged.

He called for greater commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.

The COAS urged the troops to intensify efforts to end the over-a-decade-long insurgency.

He outlined plans to enhance their welfare, including prompt payment of allowances, healthcare, housing, and other benefits.

“I am here to boost your morale, encourage you, and assess your condition,” he said, stressing that more is expected from them.

Lt. Gen. Shaibu’s visit is part of his two-day operational tour of Borno State following his assumption of office as the new Chief of Army Staff.

The visit aims to reenergize the troops and strengthen their capacity to defeat insurgents in the North East.
