Chevron Nigeria Limited has donated two ambulances to the Yobe State Government to strengthen emergency healthcare delivery in the state.

The donation targets gaps in maternal and child emergency response services across public health facilities.

The commissioner for health, Mohammed Lawan Gana, received the ambulances on behalf of the state government.

Gana presented the vehicles to Governor Mai Mala Buni at the Government House on Thursday.

He said the ambulances would be deployed to the maternal and child referral center at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital.

According to him, the intervention will improve referral services and reduce delays in emergency response.

Governor Buni commended Chevron for supporting the state government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery.

‘This donation aligns with our administration’s commitment to strengthen the health sector, especially maternal and child healthcare,’ Buni said.

He directed the management of the teaching hospital to ensure proper use and regular maintenance of the ambulances.

The governor said accountability and sustainability were key to achieving better health outcomes in the state.

The donation was described as part of Chevron’s corporate social responsibility to host communities and states.
