The Borno State Road Maintenance Agency (BORMA) has pledged to complete additional critical road projects before the end of 2025.

The projects inspected included the 16.6 km Jos–Damasak road, the Damasak–Baga road, the 3.4 km State Teaching Hospital road network, the rehabilitation and dualization of the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport road, the 1.34 km Bolori road, and a 3.28 km drainage network.
“We are out this morning to inspect ongoing projects with the House Committee members and officials of the Agency,” Engr. Auno said. “So far, we have visited four road projects, including the Jos–Damasak road, the Damasak–Baga ring road, the Teaching Hospital road network, the Muhammadu Buhari Airport road, and the Bolori road and drainage project.”
He explained that the ring road construction, which began in July 2024, has reached an appreciable level, while the Teaching Hospital road network is 80 percent completed, with asphalt laying set to commence soon. According to him, all construction is being executed in line with engineering standards and practices.
Auno further disclosed that the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport rehabilitation covers 3.28 km of dualized road, a 1,100 square meter single lane, and parking space to support future international operations. He added that the Bolori project involves 1.34 km of road with a 2.68 km side drain and a 400-meter outfall drain, expected to be completed within two months.
He also revealed that BORMA is rehabilitating the Womdiyo–Chibok road, which spans about 20 kilometers, along with other key projects across the state.
The oversight visit was led by the Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Housing, Hon. Abdullahi Buba Abatcha, accompanied by Hon. Alhaji Bukar Abatcha of Ngala Constituency and the Committee Clerk, Alhaji Mustapha Umar. Also present were the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Babagana Sa’ad, the Governor’s Technical Assistant, and Directors of the Agency.
Meanwhile, the Borno State House of Assembly has commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his investment in road infrastructure.
Hon. Abdullahi Buba Abatcha praised the governor during the visit, noting: “We are here to discharge our legislative responsibility, which is oversight. I commend His Excellency, Governor Zulum, for fulfilling his 2025 budget promise to deliver critical roads and drainage projects that have transformed the state.”
He also applauded the synergy between BORMA, the supervising ministry, and the agency’s leadership team for effectively managing resources appropriated by the State Assembly.
