Current and former governors, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday met alongside other caucus members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for a strategic session at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.

Also present were senators Tolu Odebiyi, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Akin Odunsi, and Shuaib Salisu, among other key party stakeholders.

The meeting took place under tight security, with hundreds of armed personnel from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as well as plainclothes operatives, deployed to safeguard the venue.

Security personnel struggled to control a large crowd of supporters who gathered at the entrance, causing extended traffic congestion in the area, worsened by a heavy downpour.

Organised by the state APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, the meeting is part of ongoing moves to resolve internal disputes, reinforce party cohesion, and assess the political terrain ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Participation was limited to officially recognised members of the State Caucus, in accordance with party guidelines.
