Kaduna State has again recorded a major milestone in the health sector, winning a $400,000 award at the 2025 National Primary Healthcare (PHC) Leadership Challenge for outstanding performance in Human Resources for Health, facility infrastructure, and equipment supply.
The award was presented at a ceremony held in Abuja, where the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, represented Governor Senator Dr. Uba Sani, CON.
The recognition underscores the Uba Sani administration’s sustained commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery, with deliberate investments aimed at improving health infrastructure, staffing, and access to quality services across the state.
Kaduna’s latest achievement builds on its strong showing in the previous year. In 2024, the state emerged as the best-performing state in the North-West at the PHC Leadership Challenge, earning international recognition and a $500,000 award for excellence in healthcare investments and leadership.
The back-to-back honours further position Kaduna State as a leading example of sub-national commitment to healthcare reform and improved public health outcomes in Nigeria.
