Security forces in Zamfara have rescued five abducted victims during a coordinated operation in Talata Mafara Local Government Area.

According to reports obtained by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation took place on September 21, around 6:00 a.m., when armed bandits were sighted moving kidnapped persons from Barikin Daji bush camp to Bayan Ruwa camp.

The criminals were attempting to pass through Garbadu village when they were intercepted.

Combined security thwats bandits operation

A combined team of security personnel, backed by Community Protection Guards and local vigilantes, engaged the bandits and successfully rescued the victims without further incident.

Sources confirmed that the rescued individuals were identified as Hauwa’u Lawali, 45; Karima Lawali, 25; Zainab Lawali, 27; Naja’atu Lawali, 15; and Zainabu Lawali, all residents of Wanu village in Anka Local Government Area.

“The victims were taken to Dauda Care Hospital in Talata Mafara for medical attention, debriefed, and later reunited with their relatives,” the sources added.

The successful operation comes amid heightened security challenges in Zamfara, where bandit groups have continued to stage abductions and attacks on rural communities despite ongoing military operations.
