President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Nigeria is marking its 65th Independence anniversary amid persistent economic challenges, rising insecurity, and growing social tensions.

As the nation reflects on its journey since 1960, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to address Nigerians in a nationwide broadcast on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

The speech, scheduled for 7 a.m., is expected to focus on national unity, government priorities, and the administration’s strategies to tackle the country’s pressing problems.

Citizens at home and abroad are encouraged to tune in to the president’s message, which is likely to outline plans for economic recovery, improved security, and social stability.

All television, radio, and electronic media platforms have been directed to connect to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the live transmission.

The announcement was contained in a statement released on Tuesday, by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Tinubu’s Independence Day broadcast is expected to set the tone for renewed efforts to strengthen governance, rebuild public trust, and chart a clearer path for Nigeria’s future.
