Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said all projects started by President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Abuja will be completed before the government leaves office.

Wike made the statement during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he also claimed that no previous FCT administration had achieved as much as the current government.

“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu would have been completed,” Wike said.

The minister challenged those criticising the administration’s performance to compare its achievements in Abuja with those of past governments.

“In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come out,” he said.

Wike also criticised the recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference, describing it as a failure and accusing the association’s leadership of giving politics more attention than issues affecting lawyers.

“Instead of concentrating on issues affecting the NBA, they started playing politics,” Wike said.

He also questioned what the current NBA president would be remembered for after her tenure, saying he had previously explained why he did not support her emergence.

Wike further criticised the decision to invite a former governor to an NBA event despite his allegation that the former governor had prevented the courts from operating for almost two years.

“I will tell the NBA president: what would you say will be your legacy? As the Minister of the FCT, what would I say I have done?” he said.

“I told the current NBA president why I did not support her. She went to invite a former governor of the state who chained and locked up the court for almost two years. When you see this kind of thing, you begin to wonder, what kind of NBA is this?”
