Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has officially commenced a second tenure in office.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, drawing a diverse crowd of guests from across and beyond the state.
Soludo got to the venue at exactly 11:18 am alongside prominent dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, and former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Also present at the event were elder statesmen such as former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and respected traditional ruler, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Soludo took the oath of allegiance at exactly 11:50 am before proceeding to take the oath of office, a process that lasted about five minutes.
He was joined by his wife, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, who stood by him as he took both oaths.
He immediately went on to append his signature to the oath documents in the presence of the state Chief Judge at 11:55 am, drawing applause from attendees.
The ceremony signals the start of his second tenure, which will run until 2030.
