The Kaduna State Government has announced plans to host the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Prize Naming Competition Ceremony on January 21, 2026, as part of activities marking a major milestone in the implementation of the KBRT project.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the KBRT Communication Advisor, Jamila Hamisu Farouk, the ceremony will take place at KADA HIVE, Kaduna, and is expected to attract senior government officials, transport sector stakeholders, development partners, and members of the media.

The KBRT project, branded “Kaduna Connect,” is a flagship transportation initiative of the Governor Uba Sani administration, designed to improve public transport services, ease mobility challenges, and enhance efficient urban movement across the state.

The project is being implemented with technical and financial support from the French Development Agency (AFD), a key development partner to Kaduna State in advancing sustainable transport infrastructure.

During the ceremony, the winning name for the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit system will be officially unveiled, and prizes will be presented to the winner of the naming competition. Other activities showcasing the project’s significance and anticipated impact on urban transportation will also feature.

The Kaduna State Government expressed optimism that the KBRT project will significantly improve the efficiency, safety, and affordability of public transportation, while reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and people-centred development.
