Gunmen have kidnapped the wife and daughter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, during a late-night attack on his residence.
The incident happened late Sunday in Sakpefu community when armed men stormed the area around 11 p.m., shooting into the air to scare residents before forcing their way into the home of the APC chairman.
During the invasion, the attackers abducted the chairman’s wife, Hajia Fatima, and daughter, Amina, and took them away to an unknown destination.
TVC News reported that local vigilante groups quickly began a search to track the abductors, but the victims have yet to be found. The attack adds to the series of bandit activities that have unsettled the Patigi area in recent weeks.
The report claims that “in recent days, Esanti and Lalagi villages were attacked, leaving a driver dead and another resident abducted.”
In another incident on Saturday, armed men stormed Shagbe community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, attacking the traditional ruler’s palace. Residents reported that several people were killed and many others abducted during the hours-long assault, despite repeated distress calls to security forces.
