Operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 42 suspected internet fraudsters in Gashua, a local government area in Yobe State.

The arrests were made during a sting operation on Wednesday.

The operation was conducted at various locations across Gashua following credible intelligence regarding the suspects’ involvement in computer-related crimes.

Items recovered from the suspects included seven motorcycles, one Mercedes-Benz car, and 55 phones and laptops.

EFCC operatives also seized PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation 4 (PS4) consoles.

The commission’s intelligence indicates the suspects are linked to various forms of internet-related fraud.

The suspects will be charged to court once investigations are complete.
