Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, says his administration spent almost N100 billion on security in 2025.

He said insecurity remains a major challenge in parts of the state. Zulum explained that the situation has slowed development projects because contractors are afraid to work in some areas.

He spoke on Thursday during a sympathy visit to the Emir of Uba, HRH Ali Ibn Mamza.

The visit followed the recent abduction of 13 female farmers in Uba.

“Security is important; without it, there is no peace,” Zulum said.

He stated that his plan for road construction and other projects cannot move forward until security improves.

“This year, I spent about N100 billion on security,” he added.

He said peace would allow more development projects, including schools, computer centers, and road construction.

The governor assured the people of Uba that the government will continue working to improve lives across the state.

The Emir of Uba commended Zulum for his effort.

“You have done a lot for us,” the Emir said.

He noted that the community has benefited from government projects under Zulum’s leadership.

“If the Constitution allowed, we would want you to continue,” he added.
