Ahmadu Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, has clarified the circumstances surrounding his political rift with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Fintiri stated that their parting was solely rooted in differing party affiliations.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, the governor stressed that although they now belong to separate political parties, his relationship with Atiku remains friendly and respectful.
He explained that individuals truly devoted to Nigeria’s advancement should view one another as collaborators in building the nation, adding that his present political position favors backing a southern candidate.
The governor also brushed aside claims of any communication breakdown, insisting that their political divergence has not strained their personal ties.
“There is no strained communication with the former VP as a result of political differences.
“I still have; there is nothing that has gone bad. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways. I am today in APC, they are in another party,” he said.
