The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command, has launched Operation Zero-Tolerance for the 2025 yuletide, deploying 1,470 personnel across the state to curb road crashes.
Inaugurating the operation on Monday, Sector Commander Tijjani Iliyasu said the campaign is an intensive end-of-year safety drive aimed at reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities.
“The operation commenced today and will run until January 15, 2026,” he said.
Iliyasu disclosed that the deployment includes 1,470 regular personnel, 401 Special Marshals, 30 patrol vehicles, two motorbikes, three tow trucks, 10 ambulances, and drones for traffic surveillance on major highways and critical corridors.
Iliyasu urged officers and men of the corps to conduct themselves professionally throughout the operation.
“All personnel must be professional and avoid any act capable of tarnishing the image of the FRSC,” he warned.
According to him, enforcement will target offences such as over speeding, dangerous driving, drunk and drug-impaired driving, seat belt violations, use of mobile phones while driving, tyre violations, overloading, lane indiscipline, and route violations.
He added that mobile court sittings, strict enforcement and sustained public enlightenment would be conducted, while traffic camps and help areas have been activated at Rigachikun, Kwanan Farakwai, Birnin Yero and Gonin Gora.
Motorists were advised to use FRSC emergency platforms, including the 122 toll-free line, National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM, and the FRSC mobile app. Iliyasu wished residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, assuring safer roads throughout the season.
