A student of the Yola Campus of Nigeria Law School, Ayomiposi Ojajuni, has reportedly taken his own life after he was barred from sitting for his final bar examination.
It became known yesterday that Ayomiposi passed away earlier in the day after ingesting a poisonous substance the previous day, shortly after realising he would not be allowed to take the examination scheduled for that morning.
Those close to him said he became deeply troubled that Saturday morning when he confirmed that he would indeed be prevented from entering the examination hall, and then consumed the lethal substance, after which he was rushed to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.
Sources said the decision to stop him from taking the exam followed several queries issued to him by the institution that were left unanswered.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Sulaiman Nguroje, could not be reached for comment yesterday, but another police source verified that Ojajuni took his own life.
