Police authorities in Jigawa State have confirmed an assault on the residence of the Aujara Divisional Police Officer.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed the development in a statement issued to the press.
He explained that the attack happened on November 25, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., when yet-to-be-identified gunmen carried out a brutal invasion on the DPO’s home.
He noted that the incident led to the death of one police officer, while another sustained severe injuries.
According to him, “Police personnel on guard duty reportedly engaged the attackers in an effort to repel the assault.
“During the exchange, two officers were seriously injured and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the relatives, colleagues, and associates of the deceased officer.
He gave an assurance that the command had launched a comprehensive and meticulous investigation to apprehend those behind what he labelled a “dastardly act.”
