The Nigerian military is set to intensify its fight against Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in Borno State with the deployment of more troops and equipment to Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK). 

This decision was made during a visit by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, to frontline troops on Friday.

General Musa visited the troops alongside Defence Ministers Mohammed Badaru and Bello Matawalle.

The CDS who spoke on behalf of the ministers thanked officers and men of OPHK for their residence and professionalism in the battlefield.

He charged them to do more in order to address the lingering security challenges confronting the North East.

“The Defence Chief assured the people of the state of President Tinubu’s commitment to addressing all related security issues in the state and the nation in general,” a statement by the Director Defence Information Brig-Gen. Tukur Gusau said, highlighting the purpose of their visit was to assess security situations and interact with the State Governor on the way forward.
