Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has disbursed N63,408,653.59 to families of fallen officers.

According to the statement signed on Thursday by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the police public relations officer said,the payment covers 84 beneficiaries under the Group Life Insurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.

The beneficiaries include next-of-kin and family members of officers who lost their lives while serving with courage and dedication.

The initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

During the presentation ceremony, CP Naziru, who represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, said, “The welfare of officers and their families remains one of the Force’s top priorities.”

He described the initiative as “proof of the IGP’s compassion and leadership in honoring officers who paid the ultimate price for peace and security.”

The commissioner urged beneficiaries to “use the funds wisely for education, healthcare, and the general well-being of their families.”

He also praised the Inspector-General for sustaining the Group Life Insurance and Family Welfare Scheme, describing it as “a vital support system for the families of fallen heroes.”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Nana Goni expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the gesture and promised that “the funds would be put to good use.”
