Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved a new wave of appointments to key government agencies and institutions.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen service delivery and reinforce the capacity of strategic sectors.

The announcement was made on Friday, July 4, 2025, in a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Experienced professionals take over key roles

Among those appointed is Dr. Bashir A. Muzakkar, who will now serve as the Director General of the Kano State Information & Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA). He previously served as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital and Creative Economy.

Kabiru Saidu Dakata has been appointed as the Director General of the Kano State Advert & Signage Agency (KASA), while Dr. Fatima Abdul Abubakar, popularly known as Amneef, is now the Director General of the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA). Before this role, Dr. Fatima served as the Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilization.

New faces in housing, education, and anti-corruption

Engineer Isyaku Umar Kwa has been named Deputy Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation.

Similarly, Hamisu Musa Gambo Danzaki is now the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board, a key agency overseeing educational grants and financial aid for students across the state.

The governor also appointed Barrister Isma’il Nasarawa as the Provost of the Anti-Corruption Institute, signaling a renewed focus on ethics and accountability within the civil service.

Governor Yusuf appointed retired military officer Captain Mohd Bello Maigaskiya Gabasawa as the new Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute. His experience in security operations is expected to bring discipline and professionalism to the training of corporate security personnel in the state.

Governor expresses confidence in appointees.

Governor Yusuf expressed strong confidence in the ability of the new appointees to deliver results.

He said their background, integrity, and professional records made them ideal choices to lead these institutions.

“These appointments reflect our commitment to good governance, innovation, and public accountability. I trust these individuals to execute their duties with diligence and loyalty to the people of Kano,” the statement read.
