The Oyo State Government on Monday pulled down a building identified as one of the places where the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were allegedly kept by kidnappers in Ibadan.
The demolished property was reportedly connected to the gang responsible for the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
According to media reports, the victims were kidnapped along Elewura, Ring Road, Ibadan, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.
According to the government, investigations conducted after their rescue revealed the building as one of the hideouts used by the abductors during the period they were held.
The demolition operation was carried out by the Ministry of Lands and Housing in conjunction with security agencies following intelligence findings linking the structure to the criminal activity.
The state government stated that the move formed part of efforts to strengthen its zero-tolerance policy against criminal acts.
The victims were rescued during a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force, which resulted in the neutralisation of two suspected kidnappers and the arrest of several others.
