Governor Dikko Radda has emerged as the governorship flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress in Katsina State ahead of the 2027 general election.
The affirmation exercise took place on Thursday at the People’s Square in Katsina.
Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee from the party’s national secretariat, Yakubu Maccido, who monitored the exercise, said the governor received endorsement through a voice vote by delegates and party loyalists.
“The affirmation followed a unanimous agreement among stakeholders in the state,” Maccido said.
He noted that the outcome demonstrated the collective commitment of party members to sustain unity and consolidate the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
He further stated that the exercise was carried out peacefully and in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
“While some states experienced tension during the process, Katsina distinguished itself through unity, discipline and effective leadership under Governor Radda,” he said.
The affirmation further boosts Radda’s standing within the party ahead of preparations for the 2027 governorship poll in the state.
