No fewer than 500 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students on Tuesday took part in a free mock JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) organised to commemorate the 10th coronation anniversary of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo in Ikorodu, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali.

The exercise was coordinated by the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, a non-profit organisation created by the monarch as a practical platform for self-help, community growth and human capacity development within the Igbogbo kingdom.

The participants were selected from six secondary schools — Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School; Community Secondary School, Baiyeku; Lagos State Model Girls College, Agunfoye; Reri Secondary School, Oreta; Oreyo Grammar School; and Civil Service Model College — all located in the Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The event, themed “Empowering Future Leaders Through Free Expert CBT Training,” took place at the HOMAT CBT Centre, Igbogbo, and was designed to prepare the students ahead of the upcoming 2026 UTME/JAMB examinations.

Speaking during the programme, Oba Kasali appreciated God for granting him the privilege of celebrating a decade on the throne, stressing that the true purpose of leadership was to improve the lives of the people in every possible way, particularly through educational advancement.

He recalled his own experience when examinations were conducted with paper and pen, explaining that technological progress has transformed the way many activities are carried out today, including JAMB examinations which are now fully computer-based.

He explained that the educational initiative was therefore conceived to empower and equip youths in the Igbogbo Kingdom with the relevant knowledge and skills required for academic success.

He urged them to maximise the opportunity in getting themselves prepared for the forthcoming examination by paying attention and applying the knowledge gained from the training, warning that any mistake in the examination might lead to one year of stagnation in their academic pursuits, as the examination exercise is conducted yearly.

He urged them to look beyond the seemingly prestigious courses, as there are also disciplines that are of relevance, especially in the contemporary global market and urged them to run away from hard drugs and companies that could fracture their future and goals in life.
