Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned the Tudun Biri Resettlement Project in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing it as a fulfillment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to rebuild the community after a military bombing incident that occurred nearly two years ago.

The project features 133 completed houses, schools, and other modern facilities aimed at restoring dignity, stability, and better living conditions for affected residents.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shettima said the initiative demonstrates the Tinubu administration’s commitment to keeping its promises.

“This project is proof that the Federal Government does not abandon its citizens in times of hardship,” he stated, adding that the effort is designed to restore hope, peace, and livelihoods for families impacted by the tragedy.

The Vice President noted that the programme is being implemented under the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict, revealing that similar projects are ongoing in other states.

“We are carrying out related interventions in Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina, and Benue to support communities affected by conflict,” he said.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani commended President Tinubu for his compassion and swift response.

“We appreciate the President for showing empathy and taking prompt action to rebuild Tudun Biri,” the governor said, while also acknowledging the Vice President’s role in ensuring the project’s success.

Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, described the initiative as a critical step toward recovery for affected communities. “This project reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring dignity and development opportunities to communities impacted by humanitarian crises under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.

Residents of Tudun Biri also expressed gratitude for the intervention. A community representative said, “This support has renewed our hope and given us the chance to begin a new life.”
