CELOHA Nigeria has expressed deep shock and sadness over the tragic killing of a woman and her six children in Kano State.
The organization described the act as inhumane and a stark reminder of the need to strengthen community safety and shared responsibility.
“We strongly condemn this barbaric act. No one can justify taking the lives of innocent women and children. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and the people of Kano during this difficult time,” CELOHA said.
The organization praised the Kano State Commissioner of Police and officers of the Nigeria Police Force for their quick and professional response, which led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Umar, and two others.
CELOHA also commended local community members for their courage and cooperation with security agencies, noting that their involvement was crucial in making the first arrest.
CELOHA called for a thorough and transparent investigation, diligent prosecution of all involved, and stronger collaboration between communities and security agencies to prevent future incidents.
The organization also urged residents to stay calm, remain vigilant, and support law enforcement efforts.
