Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has obtained his membership card under the All Progressives Congress digital registration exercise in Maiduguri.
The registration took place on Sunday after the official flag-off of the exercise at the party’s state secretariat.
Bello Ayuba, Borno State APC chairman, presented the digital membership card to the governor after his registration by the ward agent of Aiari unit 003.
Umar Usman Kadafur, deputy governor of Borno State, and Ali Bukar Dalori, APC deputy national chairman, were also issued their digital membership cards.
Speaking after the registration, Zulum said strengthening internal democracy was essential for a stable democratic system.
He urged party members to embrace the e-platform to expand APC membership across the state.
Zulum said Borno State had the capacity to register more than two million APC members if stakeholders worked diligently.
He called on critical party leaders to ensure the success of the registration exercise.
The APC digital membership initiative is designed to establish a centralized and verifiable database of party members.
The system is expected to improve internal democracy, enhance communication, and support effective political engagement.
Ayuba praised Zulum’s leadership and mobilization efforts and thanked him for his consistent support of the party.
