The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a woman found near the Federal University Gashua on October 17th.
Iconic Times24 had reported the discovery of the victim, Falmata Abubakar, 45, of Abasha, Sarkin Hausawa Ward.
Police operatives from Bade Division apprehended Abdulmumini Garba, 60, of Gasma in Karasuwa Local Government Area.
Garba serves as the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Karasuwa and the Secretary of the Vegetables Market (Kasuwan Gwari) in Gashua.
During interrogation, he confessed to transporting the victim in his vehicle.
An argument over her request for financial support for her business escalated and led to her death inside the vehicle.
The suspect admitted disposing of her body in a nearby bush at around 2200hrs on the same day, where it was later found.
CP Emmanuel Ado, the Commissioner of Police, commended the Bade Division for their prompt intelligence and operational work.
He assured the public that the investigation would be concluded diligently and the case charged to court upon completion.
The Command thanked the public for their support and urged everyone to continue providing credible information to help curb crime and maintain peace across Yobe State.
