Gombe State enters into partnership with Rano air to launch Gombe-Abuja flights

The Gombe State Government has sealed an agreement with Rano Air Limited for the launch of scheduled commercial flights between Abuja and Gombe.

The decision followed a meeting between Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and senior executives of the airline at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

Both parties reached a final understanding to begin operations soon.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, signed the agreement on behalf of the state, while the General Manager (Operations) of Rano Air, Mr. Abah Godwin, represented the airline.

Four weekly flights to connect Abuja and Gombe

According to a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s spokesman, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, Rano Air will deploy an Embraer 145 aircraft with a 50-passenger capacity.

The airline is expected to operate four weekly flights on the Abuja–Gombe–Abuja route — every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The airline’s management assured Governor Yahaya that its services would be reliable, efficient, and customer-oriented. The partnership, they said, would not only make travel easier for business and government officials but also enhance economic links between Gombe and other parts of Nigeria.

Misilli noted that the state government viewed the collaboration as part of its broader efforts to attract investment and open Gombe to more economic opportunities across the North-East region.

Governor Yahaya hails partnership as sign of investor confidence

Governor Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the deal, describing it as evidence of Gombe’s growing reputation as a peaceful, stable, and business-friendly state.

He said the state government remained committed to improving infrastructure and providing an enabling environment for investors.

The governor added that the new flight operations would promote trade, tourism, and ease of movement for residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors.

He also thanked Rano Air for showing confidence in the state’s potential and pledged continued collaboration to ensure the success of the new air service.
