Tensions between Iran and Israel reached a new peak on Monday as an Israeli airstrike hit Iran’s state broadcasting service, disrupting a live news transmission.

Simultaneously, the United Nations nuclear watchdog reported “extensive damage” to Iran’s largest uranium enrichment plant at Natanz.

Nuclear facility suffers heavy damage

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed significant destruction at Natanz following repeated Israeli attacks, sparking concerns over the potential for a broader regional conflict.

This comes as Iran vowed a major retaliatory strike.

Iranian state media reported that the country was preparing its “largest and most intense missile attack” yet, targeting Israeli military and intelligence facilities.

The announcement followed what was considered one of Iran’s most effective retaliatory missile volleys, managing to breach Israeli air defenses.

Tehran appeals for U.S. intervention through Arab allies

Amid rising casualties and destruction, Iran has appealed to key Arab nations to help de-escalate the conflict.

According to sources who spoke to Reuters, Tehran requested Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman to intercede with U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to rein in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“If President Trump is genuine about diplomacy and interested in stopping this war, next steps are consequential,”
— Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on X.

“Israel must halt its aggression, and absent a total cessation of military aggression against us, our responses will continue. It takes one phone call from Washington to muzzle someone like Netanyahu.”

In exchange for American pressure on Israel, Iran signaled potential flexibility in stalled nuclear talks, regional and Iranian officials confirmed.

Netanyahu: “We are on the path to victory”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressing Israeli troops at an airbase, remained defiant.

“We are on the path to victory,” he declared.
“We are telling the citizens of Tehran: ‘Evacuate’ — and we are taking action.”

The attack on Iran’s broadcasting authority was captured on live television, with footage showing a startled newsreader abandoning her desk as a blast occurred nearby.

Iran’s State News Agency confirmed the incident and attributed the strike to Israel.

The ongoing aerial conflict, now in its fourth day, has drawn global attention as fears of a broader regional war loom.

With no immediate ceasefire in sight, diplomatic pressure and military actions continue to escalate.
