The Sokoto State Government has sealed one of the offices of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, citing the need to protect lives and property following a clash involving party supporters and some individuals it described as miscreants.
The State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Barrister Nasiru Dantsoho, announced the closure of the building on Monday.
Dantsoho explained that the government took the decision after reviewing the building’s ownership documents, which revealed that the property originally belonged to the defunct Savannah Bank, with no officially registered transfer of ownership.
He added that the decision was connected to a recent clash between some party supporters and individuals he described as miscreants.
